Overview

Day 1 : Krakow:

Arrive at Krakow and transfer to the hotel. Proceed for half day Wieliczka Salt Mines tour. As you walk down the 360 steps into the salt mine, you have the impression you are entering a vast underground city, complete with huge caverns and underground lakes. This underground world has earned a place on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list thanks to the creativity of the miners who carved chapels out of the walls, hundreds of meters below the surface. You will visit the largest of the chapels, dedicated to St Kinga, the patron saint of salt miners. This subterranean church is richly decorated with chandeliers, sculptures and religious figures carved out of salt. As you follow the 2.5 kilometer walk, you’ll pass statues dating back to the 18th century depicting mythical, historical and religious figures. The last stop in the mine is the souvenir shop and snack bar. From here, the lift carries you back to the surface. Overnight in Krakow.

 

Day 2 : Krakow:

After breakfast, proceed for the full day tour of Auschwitz Birkenau Museum and Memorial Tour. KL Auschwitz – 1940-1945, the biggest Nazi concentration and death camp in occupied Europe. The Auschwitz Memorial Museum (founded in 1947) was included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1979. Your journey to Auschwitz takes over an hour and during this time you will get the chance to see a documentary film depicting the history of the Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camp. Upon arrival, you will have a short break for 15 minutes. You will begin the tour of a place -symbol of the Holocaust and Nazi crimes committed against Poles, Romani and others. The tour comprises both parts of the former concentration camp, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz IIBirkenau. Approx. 1.5 hours will be dedicated to tour Auschwitz I and the same amount of time will be spent on Auschwitz II-Birkenau. At Auschwitz I you will visit the camp for men and women established the Nazis, it was the place here the first experiments of killing using Zyklon B took place, the first mass transports of Jews were being murdered, the first criminal experiments on prisoners were conducted, and the majority of executions by shooting were performed. Then will take a 3-kilometre bus ride to reach Auschwitz IIBirkenau. Birkenau was the largest concentration camp where there were over 100,000 prisoners: Jews, Poles, Romani, and others. Today, you can see preserved ruins of the gas chambers and places filled with human ashes, as well as primitive barracks for prisoners. Overnight in Krakow.

Day 3 : Krakow:

After breakfast, free time for last minute shopping. Check-out and transfer to airport for onwards journey.
