Good news for Omani travelers – your passport just became more powerful. In the latest Henley Passport Index released for the first half of 2025, Oman climbed four spots to 56th place globally. That ranking translates into greater freedom of movement, with Omani citizens now enjoying visa-free access to 88 destinations around the world. Last year, Oman’s passport holders could travel to 86 countries without needing a visa in advance. The new total of 88 may not seem like a huge jump, but the destinations added this year make the change especially significant. Two of the world’s largest countries – China and Russia – have recently eased entry rules for Omanis, opening up major new travel and business opportunities. In May, China announced that nationals from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain would be exempt from entry visas starting in June.
