On arrival in Cape Town, you are met and assisted to your transfer (driver only). The rest of the day is at leisure (unescorted).

Overnight in Cape Town at President Hotel or similar, with breakfast.

DAY 2: Cape Town
Head to Cape Point at the south western tip of the Cape Peninsula, with the most spectacular views in the world. The drive there is just as inspiring, passing steep mountains, secluded coves and sweeping beaches, as well as villages and fishing communities. Your tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburb of Sea Point and Camps Bay with its glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range. You will continue to the fishing village of Hout Bay, one of Cape Town's best-kept secrets. Here there is an option to take a short boat trip to Duiker Island (on own account & time permitting) to view the Cape Fur Seals, which inhabit the island. From here travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, comprising over 17,300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora with variety of wildlife that includes baboons, Reebok, Cape Mountain zebra, bontebok and the elusive  eland. The majestic coastline offers drama worthy of being called ‘Nature's Greatest Show’. You will be able to see the union of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

Following the coastline along False Bay, you'll return to Cape Town by way of Simon's Town, where you visit the Penguin colony at Boulders Beach (on own account), Fish Hoek fishing village and Muizenberg. Before your return, stop at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens for a short walking tour of the beautiful gardens.

Overnight in Cape Town at President Hotel or similar with breakfast.

Day 3: Cape Town – Oudtshoorn (418 Kilometres)
Depart Cape Town and travel through the ‘Little Karoo’ and Montagu, a picturesque and historic spa town. En route, stop off in the town of Barrydale, where we will have the opportunity to visit a local farm school, interact with the children and teachers, spending time with them in the classroom learning more about the local farming community, before continuing to Oudtshoorn, the “ostrich feather capital” and centre of the world’s Ostrich farming industry. (The school visit is subject to the school being open)

Overnight in Oudtshoorn at La Plume Guest House or similar with dinner and breakfast.

Day 4: Oudtshoorn – Knysna (120 Kilometres)
After breakfast take a tour of the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Return to Oudtshoorn for a tour and light lunch at an Ostrich Farm. Your journey continues over the scenic Outeniqua Pass to George, the administrative hub of the Garden Route area and then onto Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa, nestling on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the  heart of the Garden Route.

Overnight in Knysna at Rex Hotel or similar with breakfast.

Day 5: Knysna
Enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town set around a natural harbour lagoon.

Overnight in Knysna at Rex Hotel or similar with breakfast.

Day 6: Knysna - Albertinia (155 Kilometres)
After breakfast, travel via George and Mossel Bay to Albertinia, a town set against the backdrop of the majestic Langeberg Mountain Range. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, at a malaria free private game reserve, that is home to an abundance of animal and birdlife, including the Big Five.

Overnight in the region of Albertinia at Garden Route Game Lodge or similar with breakfast and dinner.

Day 7: Albertinia – Hermanus (265 Kilometres)
Your safari adventure continues with an early morning game drive. Leaving the bush behind, the journey will take you to the picturesque Cape Dutch town of Swellendam. This charming town was founded in 1745 and is famous for its youngberries, eclectic architecture and National Parks, as well as outdoor activities. Continue your journey to the seaside resort of Hermanus, known as the heart of the whale route, offering the best land based whale watching (Aug-Nov) in the world. Day 8: Hermanus – Cape Town (125 Kilometres)
After a leisurely breakfast depart Hermanus and travel to Franschhoek, a picturesque village surrounded by spectacular vineyards, where French Huguenots settled more than 300 years ago, bringing with them their age-old French wine and food culture.

Your guide will take you on a tour through Franschhoek village with the fascinating history of the French Huguenots and the Huguenot Memorial Museum.
